No Duties on Canadian Imports at This Time
European Union has agreed to extend market access negotiations.

The Canadian government has informed the NAOOA that the European Union agreed to extend the market access negotiations related to the enlargement of the EU until February 1, 2006. Therefore, no further action will be taken by the Canadian Government at this time to raise tariffs.
As stated in our June 6 memo, Canada was considering placing a 10-percent duty on several products, including olive oil.
We will continue to monitor this situation.
